Nehemiah Fest to release 2009 line up
Every year we get the same question - "What big name(s) are you booking for Nehemiah Fest?" And every year we answer the same way, "The Light of the World, Prince of Peace, Redeemer, and Saviour - the Name above all names...JESUS!"
We are pleased to announce that JESUS will once again be our headliner and will be appearing on all stages, campsites, and booths at the festival. Our intention has always been about making Jesus the focus of the event. It is about the reconciliation of the Body of Christ. Sure we are going to have fun and enjoy some great music and fellowship, but we do not want to loose site of our vision and mission for this event.
Our motto, "Don't think big, think obedient" has really served us well in light of today's economy and the faith-based budget process that we use to power this festival. Our budget is limited and we have definite fixed expenses such as site costs and some production costs. We are blessed by generous bands that give freely of their time and talents. This is the heartbeat of the Nehemiah Festival. I am moved by the fact that the majority of the musicians really "get it". They understand that they have a specific role in "rebuilding the wall" and humbly take their place on this Construction Crew. Please pray for provision for all of the bands, and be there to support them by purchasing their music and merchandise.
Surpluss donations that we receive are tithed to other ministries. I would love to reach a point in our fund raising to be able to compensate bands a small stipend for travel expenses. But if that funding does not appear, I have no doubt that these musicians and others like them will continue to come and support the vision of this event.
Will we have music? Absolutely Yes! And lots of it!. Here's who you are likely to see opening for JESUS at Nehemiah Festival:
Bread of Stone, scarlet | snow, Gabriel, The Rev. Jimmie Bratcher, Lester Estelle, Sr., 9th Hour, Mission Blues, Jason Watson, The Wright Choice, AZ-U-R, Our Last Chance, Whosoever Will, Destiny Stanley, Living Water Praise Band and JSB.
We will be announcing the other tentative selections at before the end of the month. We hope to have the selections to announce at Christian Family Day on July 25 |
