Jeannie Furst has been a songwriter for most of her life. She began writing gospel music as a teenager and it has been her passion to encourage others in their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ through music. Her writing style is most heavily weighed by using scripture as the basis of each song. Jeanne has found that the Lord is ever present and faithful, and these are the themes that shine throughout her writing. The hope is that people will be drawn to Christ by listening to the words that have been written on her heart. Jeannie has released three CD’s, Running Through Life on My Knees (2001), Work of Art (EP 2010) and Lead Me to the Desert (with her band Furst Light, in 2011). She is currently working on new material. In 2015, she received the KCCM (Kansas City Christian Music) award for songwriter of the year. She and her husband Jeff (who is her drummer) have ministered in numerous venues with her band. They reside in Lawrence, KS.
